The FMF-Symposium is the FMF’s largest annual scientific event. Focusing on a specific scientific theme, it features renowned and often international speakers, and is visited by science students of all years. It is open to the faculty staff and the general public as well.
The Symcie is responsible for organizing the FMF-Symposium. As such, they have to think of a theme, address potential speakers, raise funding from subsidiaries and sponsors, select a venue and promote the event. It is a great way to gain experience with organizing a large event, but also to come into contact with cutting-edge research topics that your study does not address.
