What?
The Energy and Sustainability Research Institute Groningen (ESRIG) offers research and education possibilities relevant and interesting for (applied) physics students. Research subjects are a.o. aerodynamics (applied to wind energy), detailed studies of combustion processes, geo-energy, isotope-aided studies of several fields (hydrology, food science, bio-medicine) and atmospheric studies (greenhouse gases and aerosol). These fields are also represented in the various programs that are being provided by ESRIG staff members: the energy&environment track in the Physics bachelor, and the master program Energy and Environmental Sciences. In the first half of this talk an overview will be provided, in the second half I will show examples from my own research (atmospheric greenhouse gases and related tracers) in more detail.
